I think we have all pretty much written this version off as ever getting made but the other day I couldn’t resist checking google news for it. And not surprsingly I didn’t find anything but I did find it getting a minor plug in articles that were talking about Yimou’s Zhang upcoming movie Great Wall which were from December 2014, as the MOST recent. And all it said is that Zhang Yimou was linked to the Quasimodo movie. I just found that a little silly, (article here.)
Also just going to ask for the sake of my curiosity, would anyone be interested in the blog go on Patreon? I somehow doubt there is much interest in supporting the blog in that capacity and that is okay but I figure that getting average idea doesn’t hurt, it would also mean new exclusive content for patrons (pretty sure that is how it works.) I just wanted to ask you, the readers for clarity.
For how long Brolin has been dragging this adaptation along, it had better be a damn good one! That’s right, it had better have a jazzy CGI cat in every frickin’ scene!!! Even if it doesn’t make any sense to put one in, there had better be one in every stinkin’ scene!!! And I will not accept anything less than jazzy!
With that said, and with more sincerity…they have been dragging this one along for what 4-5yrs. now? C
My keyboard hates me and decided that I wanted to hit “post”…
Can they not figure out a budget, or find the financing? Or is it an issue with the story or who to cast? Or is it simply just a pipe dream…or something you say at like 2AM around last call, “Ya know what we should do man? Ya know…um…ya know we should really do a take on that book with the ugly guy.” and someone thought it was a damn good idea and said “Yeah, let’s do that!”
Is this something they want to do really well or just some passion project that will look good on paper and maybe at the box office? Although I wish they hurry up and give us some idea of a release date, I would prefer if they waited and gave us something truly amazing…with plenty of jazzy CGI cats of course.
Couldn’t hurt
