The winner for the next adaptation to be review was Quasimodo d’El Paris. For those of you who have never heard of this version, Quasimodo d’El Paris is a French Comedic Parody of The Hunchback of Notre Dame that came out in 1999. It takes place in the fictitious of El Paris and instead of Gypsies, it the Cubans. The place is a bit different to fit into a modern setting but some aspects of the story are very close to book.
The movie was directed, written and staring Patrick Timsit, which enters it into the realm of a passion/vanity project which is on point with other adaptations or would-be adaptations. Do this make it a bad movie? Let’s find out!
Next time; The Plot
I want to thank everyone who voted in the poll. Also I’m continuing just posting only of Tuesdays with a single casting post on a Wednesday, though random posting can occurs if I feel like it. Also if you would like to make a suggestion for a Hypothetical casting, leave a comment. I alway solve getting suggestions.
I can’t wait to see your review about the movie, I have to admit that even being a little foolish, I like the fact that Agnes/Esmeralda is short/tiny but slender and have small feet. Pity she isn’t dark haired.
Now, I loved Agnes/Esmeralda red dress – well, I loved the cut, it would be better if it was green ;) – Can you try to post a print of her dress, like a full image, I’m dying to get a good pic of it to send to my seamstress, I’ve been looking for a pattern everywhere but couldn’t find, so I’ll have to do with the pic.
I will try my best to get a full length picture of her dress. The best I have right now is this one https://www.thehunchblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/quasimodo-d-el-paris-1999-06-g-e1456261990987.jpg
It is a really pretty dress.
Hey, I’ll look forward to a full print, but this one is really good, I believe it is knee lenght, right? I’ll show this to my seamstress and I’ll she what she can do, thank you very much!
Keep up with the good work, love your page!
I don’t know if you have done hypothetical casting for Pierre yet, but I kind of thought that Freddie Highmore would make a good Pierre. But really anyone could play him. :P
Oh My! I just love Freddie as an actor! He’s has lots of talent. I’ve been watching him ever since he was a child, and I gotta say the boy is good. He is so intense, perfect for a poet!
I know right! He has the charming poet look too! And I love Freddie.. When I was younger I used to have a crush on him. :) but I think he’s a good actor!
