Now we have highly remembered classic that is still somewhat under-rated

While Robin Hood isn’t one of the “heavy hitters” of the studio  it’s  really charming and a ton of fun.  It doesn’t have the amazing animation that is synonymous with the studio but the lower messy quality works with story and characters.

The characters are all vibrant and there a lot humor that is balanced out with the bleakness of the greed of the ruling class on the citizens of Nottingham especially at the end of the movie. On the topic of the ruling class, I got a kick out Prince John and Sir Hiss. I adore Hiss in his balloon and the sound effect used.

Robin Hood compensates for its lack of quality of animation – due to a low budget – with great music, a colorful cast of characters, voice cast and slapstick.

And making Robin a fox is genius.
