I don’t recollect if I’ve ever mentioned this old classic before…..?

Lady and the Tramp, Disney 1955

There might be better Disney movies, with their classic sense structure but Lady and the Tramp is a comfort movie. It occupies a cozy little place within my heart.

First off the opening scene, with Lady as puppy, is just too cute. Second, a dog-focused Disney movie will always get points.

The art style is simple but beautiful, I want to live in Lady’s neighborhood.

But more than that this movie has the classic trope of the posh girl paired up with the street-smart guy which I find enjoyable. The side characters are also enjoyable and I appreciate that the movie ends with conclusion of Trusty’s story that he has been trying to impart for the runtime only to not recall it.

Sure the movie has its flaws, some are far more egregious than others but it a charming movie with one of the most iconic romantic scenes in cinema.
