Notre Dame de Paris Beirut Concerts 2012

While this is great news, I just wonder how long it will take for one the Notre Dame de Paris concerts to be in Canada or for that matter somewhere in the Westren Hemisphere. I mean 4/7 of the original cast members are Canadians. And there is a decent number of past cast members who are from the Western Hemisphere. So when will it happen? I know there was a rumor last year about the Original Troupe performing in Montreal in the summer but Garou was in Cirque du Soleil, so that didn’t happen. But I hope it happens soon.

Meson has played both Esmeralda and Fleur de Lys. Other Actresses who shares this distinction are Julie Zenatti, Chiara di Bari and Jessica Grove. She is one of 10 actors that have been in two casts that are in different languages (Garou, Daniel Lavoie, Bruno Pelletier, Luck Merville, Natasha St.Pier, Matt Laurent, Robert Marien, Chiara Di Bari, Dennis Ten Vergert and Tim Driesen)

Meson when she was younger was the  French Disney ambassador and sang songs for Oliver, Little Mermaid and Chip and Dale, Rescue Rangers. She sang Part of that World on the Little Mermiad 1990 sound track

Who would triumph in a Cat-fight? Notre Dame de Paris edition

Today’s Question is Who would win in a cat-fight, Esmeralda or Fleur de Lys? To answer this excellent question we must first identify who are the Fleur de Lys and Esmeralda in question. Since Fleur de Lys gets the most characterization in the musical Notre Dame de Paris version we’ll choose that one and for consistency well take out cue from that Esmeralda as well.

Okay we have are Fighters, Let’s look at the stats;

Neither of them have good strength. Esmeralda has excellent dexterity and agility that helps her evade attacks. She has excellent charisma but doesn’t help in this fight. Fleur de Lys has a Constitution so she can endure a fight longer. She also has high stats in wisdom, perception and luck.

Mmm… they seem to be  evenly matched. However we can’t forget personalities. Esmeralda is sweet and I don’t think she much of a fighter and Fleur de Lys is  a ruthless, calculating bitch. She strikes me as someone who fights dirty while that notion wouldn’t even cross Esmeralda’s mind.

I would say that the winner would be Fleur de Lys, Esmeralda won’t even know what hit her.

It’s still kind of a work in progress but it for the most part functionally done. the Lens is broken down for components instead of by casts.

Compared to Esmeralda’s costumes, I find Fleur de Lys’ costume a little plain. It’s a nice enough dress but a little lacklaster for the stage. I actully like it when she has a more intricate hairstyle and I like the romantic versions of the costume but with more vibrate saturated pink tone. In a  way I prefer the concept design of Fleur de Lys better. I wonder how the different  versions would have altered it. But then you have to wonder “what does the front look like?”

Hopefully I can do at least two more of these Notre Dame de Paris Costume lenses; one for the prison dress and one on Esmeralda’s bonus costumes. We’ll see about the male costumes.

A Behind-the-Scenes Fun Fact – I have 28 folders of Pictures of this Cast alone. I didn’t always have this many, originally I had 11 folders and then  I looking to see when the cast was performing in Taipei or if they even are performing there (I think they are though)  and I found about 200 pictures. And just so everyone knows these pictures in this post are only from folder #9.  I don’t know why I latch on to this cast I haven’t heard enough them to glean any insight of how good the cast is.

This video from the 10th anniversary Italian cast of Notre Dame de Paris from April 13th, 2012. I beilieve it’s Federica Callori as Esmeralda singing Zingara (Bohemienne).

I’m just going to say this I find a lot of casts of Notre Dame de Paris to have rather mechanical performances and it’s very noticeable in this song with Esmeralda.  You can see it in run toward up stage at 0:58 and her interaction with other people. It’s not just Callori many of the Esmeraldas don’t have that ease of motion that Esmeralda should have.

Say what you want about Helene Segara’s over-all performance, at least her movements felt natural and not forced.

Lola Ponce was probadly one the best Esmeraldas to combine the choreography and her own natural moments.

What do you think? Do you find some of the Esmeralda’s moments mechanical and overly pre-planned, I mean I know they are but it shouldn’t feel that way. A Coincidence or Fate? Florence +The Machine & Notre Dame de Paris

I saw this picture on Notre Dame de Paris Fans and I was like “Woah! No Light, No Light lyrics! Cool”.

Funny thing is, No Light, No Light by Florence + The Machine is at present my favorite song and if this picture was posted a week before I wouldn’t have gotten it, odd huh? I’m very slowly becoming a Florence + The Machine fan (before this I’d only really listen to Cosmic Love by Florence +Machine) and for the most part I very rarly listen to popular/current music.

Can I challenge someone to make a music video using No Light, No Light (or another Florence + The Machine song) and Notre Dame de Paris? Because I don’t think I can pull it off and it would be so awesome! ^_^
